Winner, Global Music Awards (USA) 2015 2 Silver Medals for Composition/Composer and Original Soundtrack Film&Television, voted Fan Favorite 2015. Movie Music International (UK) Award, Best Horror Score 2015. Nominated for Premio Colonne Sonore in two categories by Colonne Sonore Film Music Magazine 2017.
Winner of 15 international classical piano competitions including Premio Internazionale della Città di Avezzano, Concorso Beethoven e i Classici di Salerno, and Concorso Flegreo di Napoli.
Salvatore received his Diploma in Piano Performance from The Royal School of London, and studied piano performance privately with Maestro José Lepore, following the pianistic school of Claudio Arrau.
He completed master classes in jazz piano performance and harmony with Barry Harris (Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonius Monk, Dexter Gordon, Max Roach, Cannonball Adderly), Juilliard School professor Michel Camilo (Tito Puente, Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, Dave Weckl, Steve Gadd, George Benson, Jaco Pastorius), and in jazz performance, practice technique and harmony with John Patitucci (Sting, Natalie Cole, John Williams, Henry Mancini, Chick Corea, Hank Jones, Wayne Shorter).
Sangiovanni and has also participated in master classes in orchestration, Russian piano technique with Mikhail Petukhov (Moscow Conservatoire), film music (mentored by Ennio Morricone), composition, and orchestration.
His 4 original operas have toured in Italy and Czech Republic and has co-composed over 25 scores for film and television with the seasoned Italian-American film composer, orchestrator and conductor Susan DiBona.
His jazz performances have taken place in concerts and festivals across Italy. Salvatore Sangiovanni's United States concert premiere took place at the Gagnon Auditorium in Clinton, CT, USA in 2015. He has also performed a private Gershwin piano solo recital at the George Gershwin Estate, the former home of Leopold Godowsky III, in New England, USA.
